Presented in partnership with MAINTENANT and in honor of the 250th anniversary of French-American relations, Villa Albertine’s annual outdoor film series Films on the Green arrives to Marfa from September 17 to October 27, 2026, showcasing French-American collaboration.

This year, Films on the Green arrives in Marfa for the first time, with four evenings of open-air film screenings set against the striking landscapes of the West Texas desert. Under the stars and surrounded by Marfa’s singular atmosphere, the series will offer a unique cinematic experience celebrating French-American cinematic collaborations.

For this first edition in the desert, the lineup includes Jean-Luc Godard’s French New Wave tech noir film Alphaville (1965), Louis Malle’s crime thriller tragedy film Elevator to the Gallows (Ascenseur pour l’échafaud, 1958), Raoul Peck’s historical documentary I am Not Your Negro (2016), and Quentin Dupieux’s surreal comedy-drama film Reality (Réalité, 2014),

This event is free and open to the public.
