Films on the Green 2026 Returns with a Celebration of America 250

In honor of the 250th anniversary of French-American relations, the 2026 edition of Films on the Green brings a selection of French films and international co-productions to nine cities across the U.S. from June – October.

Opening in Chicago, the festival kicks off on June 27 with the Johnny Depp–starring historical drama Jeanne du Barry and continues throughout the summer and fall, featuring a lineup of 19 screenings of French films showcasing American talent and international collaborations.

Highlights include the Academy Award–nominated animated film Arco; Jean-Luc Godard’s classic Breathless with Jean Seberg; John Malkovich’s Mr. Blake at Your Service!; the musical comedy The Young Girls of Rochefort with Gene Kelly; Olivier Dahan’s tribute to legendary singer Édith Piaf, La Vie en Rose; and the winner of the Academy Award for Best Picture in 2012, The Artist by Michel Hazanavicius.

The festival will continue in Houston, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C., and expand to several new locations participating for the first time, including Philadelphia, Puerto Rico, Tulsa, Marfa, TX, and New Orleans.
