Presented in partnership with POST Houston, the Alliance Française de Houston, and Rienzi, and in honor of the 250th anniversary of French-American relations, Villa Albertine’s annual outdoor film series Films on the Green returns to Houston from September 26 to October 9, 2026, showcasing French-American collaboration on the silver screen.

From the rooftop of POST Houston to the historic elegance of the Alliance Française de Houston, and the blooming gardens of Rienzi, each venue will provide a unique setting for a selection of films celebrating French-American cinematic collaborations.

This year’s lineup includes Ugo Bienvenu’s animated science fantasy film Arco (2025), Pascal Chaumeil’s romantic comedy film Heartbreaker (L’Arnacoeur, 2010), and Maïwenn’s historical drama film Jeanne du Barry (2023). 

This event is free and open to the public.

Alliance Française de Houston

The Alliance Française de Houston, part of a worldwide network founded in Paris in 1883, is a privately funded 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. There exist today over 800 Alliances in 132 countries. The US network of Alliances Françaises is the largest in the world with 107 Alliances, 73 of which, like Alliance Française de Houston, offer French classes based on the internationally recognized standards of the Alliance Française de Paris. In 2015, the US Alliance network had over 24,000 students for a total of 500,000 worldwide.

Rienzi 

Rienzi is the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston’s house for European decorative arts. Formerly the home of philanthropists Carroll Sterling Masterson and Harris Masterson III, Rienzi was designed by prominent Houston architect John Staub in 1952. Opened to the public in 1999, Rienzi houses a substantial collection of European decorative arts, paintings, furnishings, porcelain, and miniatures. Rienzi welcomes visitors for tours, family programs, lectures, music performances, and a variety of special events.

Albertine Foundation

Previously known as FACE Foundation, Albertine Foundation is an American nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting French-American relations through innovative cultural and educational projects. In close partnership with Villa Albertine, the French Institute for Culture and Education of the French Embassy in the United States, Albertine Foundation promotes artistic, literary, and educational exchange and collaboration between creative professionals from both countries thanks to corporate, foundation, and individual support.

The Awty International School

The Awty International School is Houston’s premier international school, serving students from PK3 to 12th grade. Texan-French Alliance for the Arts

The Texan-French Alliance for the Arts (TFAA) is a 501c(3) non-profit organization devoted to bridging cultures, communities, and art.
