Jeanne Vaubernier, a determined and ambitious young woman, uses her charm and intelligence to escape her modest beginnings. With the help of the Comte du Barry, she is introduced to King Louis XV—an encounter that quickly turns into a passionate and all-consuming love affair.
As Jeanne becomes the king’s official favorite, her presence at Versailles scandalizes the aristocracy, who reject this outsider threatening their carefully guarded world. Lavishly portrayed by Maïwenn and Johnny Depp, the film blends romance, ambition, and political intrigue, offering a vivid portrait of power, desire, and the cost of challenging social norms.
