Films on the Green Puerto Rico returns with two outdoor free screenings celebrating the magic of French cinema: The Artist on Thursday, August 27, and Persepolis on Friday, October 2.
Films on the Green Puerto Rico regresa con dos proyecciones gratuitas al aire libre que celebran la magia del cine francés: The Artist el jueves, 27 de agosto, y Persepolis el viernes, 2 de octubre.
Presented in partnership with Alliance Française de Puerto Rico and Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico, and in honor of the 250th anniversary of French-American relations, Films on the Green Puerto Rico returns with two outdoor screenings celebrating the magic of French cinema.
The series opens on August 27, at 7pm with Michel Hazanavicius’ Academy Award-winning The Artist, a heartfelt tribute to the golden age of Hollywood and the magic of silent cinema. Set in Hollywood in 1927, the film follows silent film star George Valentin and aspiring actress Peppy Miller as they navigate a changing film industry.
Films on the Green Puerto Rico continues on October 2, at 7pm with Marjane Satrapi and Vincent Paronnaud’s acclaimed animated feature Persepolis, adapted from Satrapi’s graphic novel. Through the eyes of a young Iranian girl growing up during the Iranian Revolution, the film explores identity, exile, and resilience through a powerful blend of humor and emotion.

Presentado en colaboración con Alliance Française de Puerto Rico y Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico, y en conmemoración del 250 aniversario de las relaciones franco-estadounidenses, Films on the Green Puerto Rico regresa con dos proyecciones al aire libre que celebran la magia del cine francés.
La serie comienza el 27 de agosto con The Artist, la aclamada película de Michel Hazanavicius ganadora del Premio Óscar, un emotivo homenaje a la época dorada de Hollywood y al encanto del cine mudo. Ambientada en Hollywood en 1927, la película sigue al astro del cine silente George Valentin y a la joven actriz Peppy Miller mientras enfrentan la transformación de la industria cinematográfica.
Films on the Green Puerto Rico continúa el 2 de octubre con Persepolis, la reconocida película animada de Marjane Satrapi y Vincent Paronnaud, adaptada de la novela gráfica de Satrapi. A través de la mirada de una joven iraní que crece durante la Revolución Iraní, la película explora la identidad, el exilio y la resiliencia con una poderosa combinación de humor y emoción.

Alliance Française Puerto Rico
Present in Puerto Rico since 1937, the Alliance Française is a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening Franco–Puerto Rican cultural dialogue and fostering ties of friendship between both countries. Albertine Foundation also contributes to promoting French language learning in the United States and funds new opportunities for students, professors, and researchers in the spheres of secondary and higher education.
