Registration Now Open For CinéSchool 2026-2027

Launched in 2021, CinéSchool uses French-language cinema to support French learning from elementary through high school. The program is open to French teachers in public and private nonprofit schools, accredited French schools, Alliances Françaises, and FLAM (French as a Mother Language) programs. Each year, it offers a curated selection of French-language and Francophone films, available online for students and accompanied by ready-to-use educational resources.

Part of the French For All initiative, CinéSchool provides teachers with a flexible and engaging way to bring cinema into the classroom while helping students discover the diversity of French-speaking cultures.

A Turnkey Educational Program

For each film, teachers receive pedagogical materials designed to prepare students before the screening and extend the learning experience afterward. These resources include teacher and student workbooks, vocabulary and comprehension activities, and discussion prompts adapted to different age groups and language levels.

After watching the films, students can continue exploring them through interactive activities on educations platforms, Genially and Padlet. Genially offers self-correcting quizzes to strengthen comprehension, while Padlet gives students the opportunity to express their ideas in French through short videos, audio, or written responses.

Films Available Online

CinéSchool is fully digital and accessible across the United States. Films are streamed online through the FestivalScope platform during designated viewing weekends, allowing students to watch them at home, individually or with their families, using their teacher’s account. This format makes the program especially easy to integrate into classroom instruction, homework assignments, enrichment projects, or family-based French learning.

A Growing National Program

Since its creation, CinéSchool has become a trusted resource for French teachers in the U.S. During the 2024–2025 edition, the program reached 175 schools across 39 states, with 221 participating teachers and 14,600 students.Teachers continue to praise CinéSchool for the quality of its resources, the diversity of its film selection, and its ability to motivate students through authentic French-language content.

How to Participate

Participation in CinéSchool is completely free. Teachers can register online for the 2026–2027 edition and select the films that best fit their students’ age group, level, and curriculum. Once registered, teachers will receive all necessary information, including access instructions, educational resources, viewing dates, and post-screening activities.
