Launch of CinéSchool
Film & TV
CinéSchool is a new film program for young audiences that aims to broaden the availability of French and francophone cinema for young audiences in schools and students across the US.
We are thrilled to launch CinéSchool, a new film program for young audience produced by Villa Albertine, in partnership with the Cultural Services of the French Embassy and the FACE Foundation. It aims to broaden the availability of French and francophone cinema for young audiences in schools and students across the US.
With free screenings adapted for various age groups—from elementary to high school—CinéSchool seeks to offer young people of all backgrounds the opportunity to see curated French-language content and to become a dynamic resource for French speakers and French learners in the US.
Whether they study French as part of a dual-language program, learn French as a foreign language, or pursue French as their heritage language, CinéSchool aims to provide free, diverse cultural content to students.
Interactive talks on FlipGrid where children get a chance to engage with film professionals will offer opportunities to practice French language skills and learn more about cinema. The program is designed to engage children and teens in ways that complement and enhance their French-language education in the US.
With a selection of ten live-action movies, animated films, documentaries, and TV episodes offered during the 2021–22 school year—presented in French with English subtitles—CinéSchool aims to build greater awareness and understanding of French and French-speaking cinema among young students across the US.
Each online screening has a limited number of free tickets allowing the participation of an average of 20 classes across the United States.
– One film per month from September 2021 to June 2022
– Available online and nationwide
– Free screenings with educational materials
– Interactive talks on FlipGrid
