Since the uprising of a pro-Russian insurgency in eastern Ukraine in 2014, hundreds of woman have joined the armed forces. Only a few have made it to the front line. Filmmaker Masha embeds herself in the war zone to follow the daily life of three of female soldiers fighting on the frontlines. By sharing the intimacy of these fighters, Masha herself soon becomes a victim of the conflict jeopardizing this film and also her life.

Born in 1989, Masha Kondakova grew up in Kiev in a family of Russian scientists. Her childhood is shaped by the fall of the Soviet Union, which had drastic consequences for the country and her own family.
As a result, corruption, women’s rights and nepotism, have been themes that Masha continues to explore in her work.
