New York, October 23, 2024 — From November 14 through 17, Albertine Books will celebrate its 10th anniversary with a series of high-profile conversations and festive events featuring global literary stars.

Convening celebrated voices in contemporary literature and humanities, the celebrations will highlight Nobel Prize winner Esther Duflo, Egyptian writer Alaa Al Aswany, author of the celebrated The Postcard, Anne Berest, Prix Goncourt winners Patrick Chamoiseau and Hervé Le Tellier, bestselling author Marc Lévy, comic book author Catherine Meurisse, Irish writer Colum McCann, American writer Katie Kitamura, Professors Kaiama Glover and Emily Drabinski, journalists Laure Adler and Mona Chalabi, publisher Françoise Nyssen, and children’s books author Anne-Lise Boutin, winner of the 2024 Prix Albertine Jeunesse, and many others.

“We’re thrilled to share this momentous 10-year milestone with our treasured New York community. In uniting top literary voices from the United States to France, Ireland, and Egypt, our program serves as proof of our core belief: that books can be a vehicle for mutual understanding and a catalyst for conversation across borders and cultures,” stated Mohamed Bouabdallah, Cultural Counselor of France and Director of Villa Albertine.

Tucked inside the historic Payne Whitney mansion headquarters of Villa Albertine, The French Institute for Culture and Education, Albertine is the only bookstore in New York devoted solely to books in French and English, with more than 14,000 titles from 30 French-speaking countries. Welcoming over 25,000 visitors each year, Albertine is a nexus for dynamic discussions, debates, and learning.

In celebration of this anniversary weekend, Villa Albertine is honored to partner with The New York Review of Books to present a festive and original event on Saturday, November 16.
