Eleanor Gorski, CEO & President of the Chicago Architecture Center, will explore the French approach to historic preservation, with a particular focus on unprotected landmarks. She will discuss how France balances the preservation of its architectural heritage with the modernization of spaces, using the Centre Pompidou as a key example.
With over 25 years of experience in architecture, conservation, and urban planning, Eleanor Gorski will offer insightful perspectives on the topic. Having held significant leadership roles in both the public and private sectors, she is recognized for her contributions to architectural preservation and design equity. As CEO of the Chicago Architecture Center, Gorski has played a crucial role in establishing Chicago’s reputation as a global architectural hub.

Reed Kroloff, Dean of the College of Architecture at the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT), will serve as the keynote speaker for this event. He is a renowned figure in the field of architecture. Over the past two decades, he has directed top design programmes, edited major architectural publications and consulted on high-profile projects. The symposium will explore some of the most innovative and influential projects in contemporary French architecture.
Following the lecture, all attendees over 21 are invited to a post-lecture reception in the Alliance salon, where they can enjoy a complimentary glass of wine and engage with the speaker.
