City/Cité: Oakland/Chicago/Detroit
Art & Design
On Monday, March 29, 2021, cultural leaders Roberto Bedoya, Cultural Affairs Manager for the City of Oakland; Connie Spreen, Executive Director at Experimental Station; Anya Sirota, Associate Professor at Taubman College of Architecture; and Juliette Donadieu, Cultural Attaché at Villa Albertine San Francisco, came together to share their perspectives and experiences.
The event was moderated by Shannon Jackson from UC Berkeley. The panel discussed the role of artists, urban planners, scholars, and elected officials, in developing community-oriented cities across the US — Oakland, Chicago, Detroit — and Saint-Denis.
