The Cité internationale des arts and the Institut français are launching the 2027 edition of their joint residency program, offering a unique opportunity for artists and cultural professionals from around the world.
Who can apply?
This program is open to artists and cultural professionals who have lived outside France for at least five years and wish to develop a research or creative project in Paris. Residencies last three, six, or nine months, and will take place between April 2027 and April 2028.
What does the program offer?
The laureates will have the chance to work on their projects in the heart of Paris, at the Cité internationale des arts. The Institut français de Paris covers the monthly costs associated with the individual studio apartments at the Cité internationale des arts. These are located in the Marais district. They are furnished, equipped with Wi-Fi, and feature a workspace with a sleeping area, a bathroom, and a kitchenette.. The program covers all artistic disciplines, including:
- Street arts, circus, puppetry
- Dance, performance art
- Theatre
- And more
How does it work?
Applicants must be supported by one or more associated partners (such as a French cultural network abroad or a cultural organization) who will assist with the application process and cover international travel and residency allowance.
Eligibility criteria:
- Be supported by one or more associated partners
- Have resided outside French territory on a permanent basis for at least 5 years
- Be engaged in a recognized professional endeavor
- Be free from any professional obligations for the entire duration of the residency
- Demonstrate autonomy and have a professional-level command of French and/or English

The International Program for the Promotion of the Arts (PIDA) is the Institut français’s call for projects dedicated to promoting French artistic creation internationally. Supported by the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture, it is aimed at the diplomatic network, French or France-based artistic teams, and French or foreign cultural organizations.
PIDA supports projects focused on promotion and cooperation, as well as the participation of French artists in major influential international events.
Who can apply?
- French cultural network abroad (Instituts français, Alliances françaises)
The cultural services of embassies are eligible provided they have a partner capable of receiving and committing the funds. - French cultural institutions or organizations (production companies, tour operators, museums, art centers, festivals, biennials, studios, publishers, record labels, etc.).
- Artists, set designers, curators, collectives, companies
- Foreign cultural institutions or organizations hosting French artists (festivals, biennials, museums, art centers, labels, distributors, publishers…).

The CCN Nantes offers an annual program called “Accueil Studio”, dedicated to supporting innovative choreographers and dance companies.
This initiative provides residency opportunities, enabling artists to develop their projects not only at CCN Nantes but also in collaboration with a network of creative spaces across the region. Throughout the residency, artists have the chance to present works-in-progress, inviting the public to experience and engage with the creative process.

PAST OPPORTUNITIES
The Fonds de mobilité ultramarins are grants from the Ministère de la Culture aimed at encouraging the mobility of artists and cultural professionals to and from the French overseas territories in the Caribbean and Indian Ocean regions.
Launched in 2020, the Fonds de mobilité Caraïbes and the Fonds de mobilité Indianocéanique support the circulation and international visibility of overseas artists.
The Caribbean Fund supports mobility within the Caribbean region, as well as travel to the United States, Canada, and Brazil.
Who can apply?
Eligible applicants include:
• Associations
• Private companies
• Local public enterprises
• Research organizations
• Individuals
Eligibility conditions vary by region (Caribbean vs. Indian Ocean), but generally applicants must:
• Be based in or have strong professional ties to eligible territories (e.g., Guadeloupe, Martinique, French Guiana, Mayotte, La Réunion, countries of the Caribbean AEC, or Indian Ocean partner countries), AND
• Have been residing and professionally active there for at least 5 years (for individuals and organizations), where specified.
What does the program offer?
The fund provides financial support in the form of:
• Travel allowance for individuals (transport, insurance, visas): up to €2,200 per mobility project
• Project support for organizations: up to €8,000 per year (covering several individual mobilities)
Support is paid in a single instalment upon approval.

Courants du monde is a short-term program for international cultural professionals wishing to develop a cultural cooperation project with French partners and to better understand the French cultural landscape.
Who can apply?
Experienced international cultural professionals, French- or English-speaking, who are available to take part in the program from October 6 to 14, 2026, and who are currently engaged (or about to be engaged) in a cultural project with French partners.
Artists, students, teachers, researchers and staff of the French cultural network abroad are not eligible.
What does the program offer?
• A 9-day tailor-made stay in France
• Professional meetings with French cultural institutions
• Support for the development of a cooperation project

Open Call – Spring 2026
The Fondation Fiminco expands its mission with La Fabrique des Arts, a multidisciplinary residency open to French and international artists and craftspeople. Located in Romainville (Greater Paris), the Foundation offers a unique creative ecosystem bringing together artists, galleries, and cultural partners across 50,000 m² dedicated to contemporary creation.
Who can apply?
The open call is addressed to French and international artists and craftspeople working in the fields of visual arts, crafts, dance, music, design, cinema, literature, research, writing, or curating, with no age limit.
What does the residency offer?
- A private studio apartment and shared living spaces
• Access to fully equipped workshops (ceramics, 3D printing, screen printing, engraving, textiles, photography, etc.)
• A production grant (from €1,250 to €5,000 depending on the residency length)
• Professional support and networking opportunities with Paris-based institutions
• Travel reimbursement (up to €300 within Europe / €800 outside Europe)
• Optional French language courses for international residents
Eligibility criteria:
- Be an individual artist or researcher in one of the eligible disciplines
• Be available for the entire duration of the selected residency
• Submit a complete application in French or English

The Centre national de la danse and the Cité internationale des arts invite choreographers of all nationalities, living and working outside France, to apply for a three-month artistic residency in Paris and Pantin.
Residency periods:
– January–March 2026
– March–May 2026
Selected artists will benefit from dedicated artistic support and mentorship throughout the residency. The programme also includes international transportation (visa, travel insurance, and flights), a monthly living allowance of 1,000€, and a production grant of 1,500€.
Eligibility:
– Reside outside of France
– Be at least 25 years old
– Have at least three years of professional artistic activity
– Have completed at least one choreographic project

For its ninth edition, Danse Élargie continues to explore all forms of movement, both on stage and in public spaces. Created in 2010 by Boris Charmatz, Emmanuel Demarcy-Mota, and the Fondation d’entreprise Hermès, the competition opens the stage of the Théâtre de la Ville–Sarah Bernhardt and the Place du Châtelet to creators from all disciplines.
This edition is organized in collaboration with the Cndc d’Angers, La Comédie de Valence, and the Ballet de Lorraine.
Who can apply?
The competition is open to artists of all nationalities, with no age limit, from all artistic backgrounds (dance, theatre, music, visual arts, architecture, design, etc.). Projects must involve at least 3 performers and last no more than 10 minutes. This event will take place on June 6 and 7, 2026, on the main stage of the Théâtre de la Ville–Sarah Bernhardt in Paris and at Place du Châtelet (rehearsals on June 4 and 5, 2026).
What does the program offer?
Three prizes will be awarded:
- 1st Prize: €13,000
- 2nd Prize: €8,000
- 3rd Prize: €5,000
Each finalist also receives a €2,000 grant to support travel and production costs.
How does it work?
Applications are reviewed by a selection committee composed of partner institutions.
Between 15 and 20 finalists will be chosen to perform on June 6 and 7, 2026.

The Commune of Saint-Denis and the Théâtre des 3T are once again joining forces for the second edition of this residency call, taking place from November 2 to 7, 2026. It is intended for professional performing artists who are currently producing a new creation or developing an artistic research and experimentation project that will lead to a future work.
Who can apply?
It is open to all performing artists (theatre, dance, performance art, multidisciplinary, etc.); however, applicants submitting a purely musical creation project are not eligible.
What does the program offer?
The selected artist will receive:
- Complimentary use of the theater’s performance space (total area: 440 m²) from November 2 to 7, 2026
- A €5,000 production grant provided by the City of Saint-Denis
- Presentation of the final creation as part of the Théâtre des 3T’s annual program, pending mutual agreement between the parties
How does it work?
Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee composed of the Théâtre des 3T team and the Cultural Affairs Department of Saint-Denis.

The winner will be selected the week of February 16, 2026 for the residency in the fall of 2026.

The Watermill Center is an interdisciplinary laboratory for the arts and humanities located in Water Mill, New York (Long Island), which brings together artists from around the world for an intensive, collaborative residency. Its International Summer Program is an exceptional four-week residency that brings 20 artists together to develop installations and performances in a communal and experimental environment dedicated to artistic research, exchange, and creation.
Who can apply?
International artists 18 years and older working in any artistic discipline, including visual arts, performance, theater, dance, music, and interdisciplinary practices.
What does the program offer?
- A 4-week immersive residency
- Time to develop an artistic project and engage in collaborations, workshops, and daily exchanges
- Access to The Watermill Center’s resources (library, archives, workspaces)
- Participation in the final public presentations of works developed during the program
- Housing, meals, and local transportation provided
- A partial stipend to support personal expenses
How does it work?
- On-site residency from July 5 to August 1, 2026
- Artists live and work together in an international community
