Applications Open for the 2027–2028 Lafayette Fellowship
Applications are now open for the 2027–2028 Lafayette Fellowship, a fully funded program supporting up to 30 outstanding American students pursuing one year of master’s-level study at leading universities and grandes écoles across France.
Apply by December 1, 2026, for the opportunity to join the next generation of young leaders committed to strengthening the French-American relationship.
Open to both Francophone and non-Francophone candidates, the Lafayette Fellowship partners with leading French institutions across STEM, the humanities, the social sciences, and the arts. Fellows may pursue degree programs taught in French or in English, offering a wide range of opportunities for students with diverse academic interests and backgrounds.
A Year of Academic and Leadership Opportunities in France
In addition to their academic studies, Lafayette Fellows participate in the French-American Leadership Program, a year-long series of lectures, masterclasses, site visits, and mentorship opportunities designed to provide an immersive introduction to European innovation, culture, and public policy.
The program offers Fellows the chance to engage with leading figures and institutions across France while developing the knowledge, skills, and networks to become future leaders in their fields.

An Expanding Network of French Academic Partners
Building on the success of its inaugural year, the Lafayette Fellowship is also expanding its network of academic partners to 21 institutions.
The expanded network will offer future Fellows an even broader selection of outstanding academic programs and opportunities to pursue their studies in France.
