Third Horizon Film Festival 2024
Festival, Film
Third Horizon Film Festival invites you to experience the art of Caribbean and diaspora cinema through a richly curated program that demonstrates a strong engagement to support independent filmmaking voices.
“As we continue to find ourselves in an era where a hegemonic establishment seeks to shore itself up to the misrepresentation and exploitation of minority communities in Florida and worldwide, never has it been more necessary to foreground independent film-making voices that are unafraid to do what cinema, at its resisting best, does so well: speak truth to power (cf. THFF).”
The seventh annual Third Horizon Film Festival proposes a lineup of 53 films, including six French films and co-productions as well as the creation of the CAFA (Caribbean Film Academy) designed to support the artistic development of diaspora-based creatives.
French filmmakers Malaury Eloi Paisley, named 2024 CAFA Fellow, and Wally Fall, have been invited to the festival to participate in a panel discussion on their film. The festival is supported by Villa Albertine, as part of its commitment to further valuing Caribbean contemporary creations.
