Masterclass with Louis Langrée and Juillard Students

The Opéra-Comique, The Juilliard School, and Villa Albertine are entering the second year of their French-American educational and cultural partnership. This multi-year collaboration brings together artists from the Académie of the Opéra-Comique and students from Juilliard’s vocal division through masterclasses, coaching sessions, and joint performances in New York and Paris.

To launch this second season, French conductor and Opéra-Comique General Manager Louis Langrée will lead a masterclass at Villa Albertine, coaching singers from Juilliard’s Marcus Institute for Vocal Arts in French repertoire.

The masterclass will feature tenor Zhongjiancheng Deng performing Duparc’s Chanson triste and soprano Melissa Joseph performing an excerpt from Bizet’s The Pearl Fishers, accompanied by pianist Winnie Zheng.

As a partner in this initiative, Villa Albertine supports the New York component of the program by hosting and promoting events and fostering connections with the local music community.

The collaboration will continue with joint concerts at the Opéra-Comique in Paris on March 12 and 13, 2027, followed by a performance at Juilliard’s Paul Hall in New York on March 25, 2027.
