Rachel loves her life, her students, her friends, her ex, her guitar lessons. When she falls in love with Ali, she grows close to his 4-year-old daughter, Leila. She tucks her in, looks after her, and loves her like a mother… which she isn’t. Not yet. Rachel is 40. The desire for a family of her own is growing stronger, and the clock is ticking. Is it too late?
The discussion will be led by Villa Albertine Los Angeles director Aude Hesbert. Aude has had a distinguished career in the promotion of French cinema, including positions with the Forum des Images, the Cannes Directors’ Fortnight, the Paris Cinema International Film Festival, Unifrance, and Le Public Système Cinéma. She has just taken a new position as the Head of Film and TV for the Villa Albertine in Los Angeles.
Participants are encouraged to watch the films via streaming before attending the discussion.
