In July, French Cinémathèque, a monthly curated discussion series about French movies, features Olga directed by Elie Grappe.

On Monday, July 22, join Chief Film Critic for Variety Peter Debruge as he hosts a discussion about Olga by Elie Grappe, starring Thea Brogli, Nastya Budiashkina, Sabrina Rubtsova and Caterina Barloggio.

15-year-old Olga, a talented Ukrainian gymnast, lives in exile in Switzerland. While she tries to adjust to life in a new country, the 2013 Euromaidan protests break out in Ukraine. As Olga attempts to enter the European Gymnastics Championship, the sweeping changes in her home country begin to shape her life.

This event will be on Zoom and is free and open to the public. The event will be in English with some French vocabulary. Please make sure to watch the film before the discussion. A list of streaming channels that offer the film can be found here.

Mark your calendars and check back here soon for details on August’s French Cinémathèque discussion as talks in English will take place on the fourth Monday of each month.

French Cinémathèque is presented by The Federation of AF USA‘s One Film One Federation program in collaboration with Telescope Film.
