Pope Francis made Latifa Ibn Ziaten the recipient of the Zayed Prize for Human Fraternity in 2021. A French mother whose son, an army soldier, was killed in the line of duty by the jihadist Mohamed Merah, Latifa Ibn Ziaten started a foundation promoting peace and tolerance of religious differences with youth in schools ever since. She is now bringing her message of laïcité to Chicago.
Latifa Ibn Ziaten’s US tour is organized and supported by the Education Department of the Embassy of France in the US.
