Animation First 2022 at FIAF
Festival
FIAF will celebrate the fifth anniversary of its popular Animation First Festival with a special edition featuring distinct programs in person and online from February 11–21!
Animation First is the only festival dedicated to French animation in New York and now nationwide! The 2022 edition will present 51 premieres, a Second Annual Student Short Film Competition, and some highly anticipated Works in Progress. The first female guest of honor, Florence Miailhe, will open the festival with her award-winning The Crossing, and closing night will feature an exclusive screening of The Summit of the Gods. A new partnership with The Met Museum will look at Disney’s influence on French animation, along with a 30th anniversary screening of Beauty and the Beast. All films will be shown with English subtitles. Talks will be in English.
