In the frame of World Pride 2025, Villa Albertine D.C. is delighted to present a screening of the 2023 Queer Palm contender at the Cannes Film Festival,Along Came Love, at La Maison Française.

In 1947, on a beach in Normandy, Madeleine, a waitress and young mother, meets François, a wealthy, and worldy student. They hit it off immediately, as though it were fate. But as their destinies intertwine, it’s obvious what Madeline wants to leave behind, while the world that François is running from is only slowly revealed.

About the film: Along Came Love (Le Temps d’aimer in French) is a film directed by Katell Quillévéré, co-written by Gilles Taurand, and produced by David Thion, Justin Taurand, and Philippe Martin. The cast includes Anaïs Demoustier and Vincent Lacoste.

About the Queer Palm: Since 2010, The Queer Palm has been the LGBTQIA+ award at the Cannes Film Festival. Each year during the festival, a jury honors one short film and one feature film selected from the Cannes Official Selection and its parallel sections. Security Rules: Each person attending the event must have a ticket registered in their name and a government-issued ID that matches the name on the reservation to enter the Embassy. No one will be admitted without a reservation and official ID. Due to strict security measures, please arrive on time, as doors will be closed at 7:00PM sharp. Please allow extra time for security screenings. There will be no on-site parking at the Embassy.
