Celebrate Digital Culture and Live Performance with Nocturne Immersion

With Novembre Numérique, the Institut français and the French cultural network abroad honor digital cultures of all forms each year. In 2024, this large-scale  international event was held both on-site and online in more than 70 countries and 130 cities.  

Co-produced by Villa Albertine, the Institut français, and Albertine Foundation, in collaboration with Dark Euphoria, Nocturne Immersion will celebrate immersive visionary creation, connecting French and American leaders and artists from the contemporary and digital art worlds.

This event will additionally unveil the 2025-2026 laureates of the French Immersion Grants for U.S. Cultural Institutions, an initiative designed to empower the next generation of immersive creators in the US.

American and French institutions will meet with project leaders from both countries in curated one-on-one and pitching sessions. These B2B meetings aim to foster international collaborations, co-productions, and visibility for innovative immersive projects.

Crossing Realities – Opportunities and Challenges in Immersive Performing Arts 

At a time when immersive technologies are redefining live performance, this panel brings together artists, curators, and technologists to explore new creative territories.  What is the artistic potential of these hybrid forms? What technical, ethical, and curatorial challenges do they raise? This transatlantic dialogue will explore the future of expanded, tech-integrated performances.

7:15 PM | Performance by NSDOS (Open to the public) 

NSDOS (aka Kirikoo Des / Koo Des) is a French artist working at the crossroads of dance, music, hacking, and biology. A former Villa Albertine resident in New Orleans, he creates hybrid works that blend code, the body, and the environment to explore and disrupt systems through artistic experimentation. 

This new performance, developed during his residency, features real-time choreography and live coding based on the artist’s own biological data (metabolism, enzymes, epigenetics). It explores the concept of double corporeality, the biological and the expressive body, as the artist uses live coding to turn invisible rhythms of life into a shared, sensory, and collective experience.

Katherine Helen Fisher is a choreographer, director, and interdisciplinary artist working at the intersection of dance, film, and emerging technologies. A former member of the Lucinda Childs Dance Company, she is the co-founder of Safety Third Productions, a creative studio focused on immersive performance and digital media. Fisher’s work explores embodiment, memory, and the future of movement, often collaborating with artists, technologists, and scientists. Her projects have been presented internationally, including at institutions such as the Getty Center, Lincoln Center, and in digital spaces around the world.​

Leigh Tanner is Head of Global Partnerships at VIVE Arts, leading collaborations with artists, cultural institutions, and creative collectives worldwide. She has overseen projects spanning VR exhibitions, XR showcases, and NFT commissions for organizations including the Mucha Foundation, London’s Serpentine, and Chi Wen Gallery in Taipei. Her work supports the growth of VIVE Arts’ digital ecosystem, helping emerging artists and institutions navigate immersive technologies and blockchain innovations.

Pierre Lungheretti is the Deputy Director of Chaillot – Théâtre National de la Danse. He has held leadership roles across France’s cultural institutions, including as Director General of the Cité Internationale de la Bande Dessinée et de l’Image in Angoulême and President of the CCN2 – Centre Chorégraphique National de Grenoble. With a career spanning government, cultural administration, and strategic consulting, he has contributed to major initiatives in dance, visual arts, and cultural policy.

Jordana Leigh is Vice President of Artistic Programming at Lincoln Center, where she has produced over a thousand performances, commissioned 60 works, and led collaborations across music, dance, and visual arts. She is spearheading Lincoln Center’s expansion into XR Arts, including the 2024 premiere of Nona Hendryx’s Dream Machine and the launch of the Collider Fellowship for artists working at the intersection of arts and technology.

Étienne Li is Deputy Director of the Blanca Li Company, a Franco-Korean producer and mathematician based in Paris. He frequently collaborates with Blanca Li, top institutions such as La Villette, Chaillot, and Théâtre de Liège, and international artists. Étienne Li works at the intersection of artistic innovation and immersive project management, combining research, production, and creative support. His background blends scientific expertise with a passion for contemporary choreographic creation.

NSDOS (Kirikoo Des / Koo Des) is a French artist who merges dance, music, hacking, and biology into hybrid forms of expression. Coming from hip-hop, he explores glitches and system cracks as creative engines, transforming errors into new artistic languages. His performances, from Centre Pompidou to MUTEK Montréal, blur the lines between concert, installation, and ritual. From Alaska to the Gwangju Biennale, he has turned environmental data, insects, metabolism, and collective intelligence into real-time music and movement. Today, with Avatar Métabolique and Activate Cities, he continues to hijack systems to reveal new artistic, technological, and organic life forms.
