A night of Opera Classics with rising stars at La Maison Française

About the Artists:

Soprano Avery Boettcher is a first-year Apprentice Artist with Santa Fe Opera, originally from Appleton Wisconsin. On stage with SFO, Ms. Boettcher will perform the title role in a scene from Rossini’s Armida. She recently completed the 2021/22 season as a Benenson Young Artist with Palm Beach Opera where she performed the roles of Belinda in Dido & Aeneas and Frasquita in Carmen, as well as covering Adina in L’elisir d’Amore and Valencienne in The Merry Widow. She also spent two seasons with Detroit Opera as a resident artist, performing Zerlina in Don Giovanni, Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi, and Woglinde in Twilight Gods. Ms. Boettcher was a 3rd Place Regional Winner of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, and in 2020 was the 1st Place winner of the MIOpera Vocal Competition. She attended Viterbo University for her bachelors degree and Indiana University Jacobs School of Music for her masters. 2023 will see Ms. Boettcher making her debut with Vero Beach Opera, performing the role of Adina in L’elisir d’amore.

Baryton Eleomar Cuello has been a member of the stable body of soloists at the Grand Theater of Havana, and at the National Theater of Cuba. Roles at these theaters include Papageno in Die Zauberflöte, Barone Douphol in La Traviata, and Schaunard in La Bohème. He also appeared in these roles at the Opera of Daejeon in South Korea. He also has performed in various theaters of Nicaragua and Chile, and recently debuted in Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid. Eleomar graduated from the National Lyric Theater of Cuba, where he studied with Adolfo Casas. He also completed a postgraduate in German Lied at the Higher Institute of Arts in Cuba, and the Liceum Mozartiano of Habana. Additionally, he has also participated in recordings of the integral work of guitar and voice of Harold Gramadgtes, as well as the complete work for voice and piano by Ernesto Lecuona.

Award-winning pianist Lior Willinger performs as a solo and chamber artist in the US and abroad. At the age of 19, he made his New York concerto debut at Carnegie Hall performing Piano Concerto No. 1 by Dmitri Shostakovich. He won grand prize and audience prize in the Camerata Artists International Piano Competition following his performance of Piano Concerto No. 3 by Sergei Prokofiev at Merkin Hall. An avid chamber musician, Willinger has collaborated in recitals with musicians of the Atlanta Symphony, Baltimore Symphony, Boston Symphony, and more. He currently serves as Director of the Homewood Chamber Music Seminar, coaching student chamber groups at Johns Hopkins University. Passionate about the music of our time, Willinger has premiered countless works. Willinger earned the Bachelor of Music degree and the Master of Music degree from the Peabody Conservatory, where he is currently pursuing the Doctor of Musical Arts degree with renowned artist-teacher, Yong Hi Moon.
