2022 San Diego French Film Festival
Festival
This June, the Alliance Française of San Diego is proud to present the city’s cinematic event of the year, the second San Diego French Film Festival. Gathering cinephiles of all ages, lovers of the French language, culture, and gastronomy, and everyone looking for an elegant night out on the town, the Festival will take place both in-person and online from June 5-12.
The Opening Night Soirée
Our celebration of francophone cinema will kick off with an exclusive opening night soirée on Saturday, June 5 at The Lot in the heart of La Jolla. We invite you to join us at this luxury venue for a red-carpet opening ceremony, complete with a step-and-repeat photo opportunity. Following the Festival opening will be an exclusive viewing of Samuel Goldwyn Films’ Delicious, directed by Eric Besnard, a French drama about the birth of a gastronomic tradition, set against the backdrop of the Revolution of 1789. After the viewing, our celebration of French culture will continue with a Q&A with special guests in the culinary and films industries. Finally, we invite you to our after-viewing party, offering cocktails, sophisticated hors d’oeuvres, and music.
Streaming
Following this unforgettable soirée, the Festival will continue its celebration of excellence in classic and contemporary Francophone cinema from June 6-12, showcasing short films, narratives, and documentaries with English subtitles available for many films. From film buffs to younger audiences, there will be a selection for every viewer. These features will be available through our online streaming festival platform.
We look forward to welcoming you both at our soirée and through our online platform to a celebration of Francophone cultures and cinema!
