2024 Oscars Shortlists

Discover French productions and co-productions featured in the 96th Academy Awards® shortlists.
The 2024 Academy Awards shortlists cover 10 categories overall including: Documentary Feature Film, Documentary Short Film, International Feature Film, Makeup And Hairstyling, Music (original score), Music (original song), Animated Short Film, Live Action Short Film, Sound, and Visual Effects.
This year, out of the 25 French (co)productions in the running, five have made it to the shortlists. All are in competition for Best International Film, one of which is also in the running for Best Documentary Feature Film.
Highlights from the lists include France’s top pick, Tràn Anh Hùng’s The Taste of Things, as well as Villa Albertine resident Kaouther Ben Hania, who is competing for both International and Documentary Feature for Four Daughters.
French production companies are listed for each film as well as French international sales companies. Majority-French films are shown in bold.
