About the artists:

Simon Charette – Simon serves as assistant conductor, chorus master and pianist for the Washington Opera Society. Recent productions include Lehar’s Land of Smile ​presented at the Austrian Embassy, Verdi’s Aida at the Egyptian Embassy, Bizet’s Carmen at the Embassy of France, and Kalman’s The Gypsy Princess at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Washington, DC.

Kristin Sampson – Praised by the New York Times for her “bright, sizable and expressive voice,” Mexican-born, American soprano Kristin Sampson’s 2020-2022 engagements include a debut with Opera Grand Rapids as Liù in Turandot, a role debut as Marguerite in Faust with the Washington Opera Society, and summer concert performances with New York City Opera, and Festival of Nature at Lake Tizsa in Hungary.

Kevin Short – Versatile bass-baritone Kevin Short is thrilling audiences around the globe in a wide range of repertoire ranging from Mozart’s Die Entführung aus dem Serail and Monteverdi’s L’incoronazione di Poppea, to Verdi’s Attila and Don Carlos, and Bizet’s Carmen.

Snacks and light refreshments can be purchased at La Maison Française before the Evening at the Opera. Please note that proof of vaccination and ID will be required to enter the French embassy grounds.
