Return to Seoul (2022)
After an impulsive decision to visit friends, Freddie, 25, returns to her birthplace, South Korea, for the time since being adopted and raised in France. Freddie suddenly finds herself embarking on an unexpected journey in a country she knows little about, taking her life in new and unexpected directions.

Davy Chou
Davy Chou was born on August 13, 1983 in Fontenay-aux-Roses, Hauts-de-Seine, France. He is a producer and director known for Diamond Island (2016)Return to Seoul (2022) and Golden Slumbers (2011). His debut narrative feature-length film Diamond Island was screened in the Critics’ Week section at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival and won the SACD Award. Chou wrote and directed Return to Seoul (2022), a drama about a young French-Korean woman, raised from infancy in France, who travels to Seoul and explores her connection with her birthplace. The film was released in theaters worldwide in 2022. The film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and was shortlisted for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film.

Davy Chou will be also in Chicago in late spring as part of Villa Albertine’s Residency program.
