Technical Officer

I. Summary
Reporting to the Secretary General and under the supervision of the building Intendant, the Technical Officer is involved in the preparation, the logistical and technical support of events organized on the Villa Albertine premises (and occasionally for external events), for the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of the New York headquarters, and for monitoring inventory and equipment. The officer works as part of a team whose role is to provide technical and logistical support to the establishment’s teams, and service to the establishment’s users and guests.
II. Details
Technical
- Logistics and hefting/handling operator, room preparation (meetings, conferences, award ceremonies, etc.), monitoring order deliveries.
- Support in setting up events (handling, technical support for audio/video equipment, etc.) and ordering/tidying up afterwards.
- Participation in setting up office space (furniture and supplies).
Building Maintenance
- Routine upkeep and simple building repairs, minor maintenance work (painting, electricity, plumbing, etc.), emergency response, regular building inspections, participation in diagnostics to determine work to be carried out.
- Support for specialized technical service providers.
- Follow-up and organization of the facility’s inventory and technical equipment.
Logistic and Mail Management
- Receive, distribute and track incoming and outgoing mail;
- Use of company vehicles to transport people and/or cultural materials, as required.
III. Required Skills
Professional Experience / Desirable Skills
- General technical knowledge (DIY)
- Preventive and curative maintenance of premises
- Know-how and experience in use of DIY tools
- American driver’s license required
Required Languages
- English: read, spoken, written – good level
- French: read, spoken, written – good level preferred
Computer Skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)

IV. Context and Framework
- Workplace: Institut Français des Etats-Unis – Villa Albertine : 972, 5th Avenue, New York NY 10075
- At will contract, 3-month trial period
- Salary: $ 4540 Monthly Gross, Level 2 of the IFEU-VA salary framework, with a monthly transportation allowance of $120.
- Working week: 40 hours, excluding lunch break.
- In-person work/position.
- Availability required, evenings and, exceptionally, weekends.
- Vacation plan: 25 days a year + days of recuperation.
- Medical insurance coverage according to situation and possible participation in a 401k plan.
- This position does not entitle the holder to any diplomatic or consular status or privileges.
