From Shadow to Light: Legendary Female Musicians

From Johann Sebastian Bach to Kaija Saariaho, from Eugène Ysaÿe to Jessie Montgomery, the award-winning French violinist Marina Chiche will guide us through a solo violin program curated around works subtly connected across various eras.

The recital will be followed by a talk hosted by Emmanuel Kattan, introducing Marina’s book Musiciennes de légende which pays tribute to great female musicians from the past, and will provide an opportunity to foster a shared conversation about the making of music history and the ongoing debates surrounding it.
