The Walker Art Center presents an opening-day conversation between renowned artists Sophie Calle and Laurie Anderson, marking the launch of the exhibition Sophie Calle: Overshare.

Sophie Calle and Laurie Anderson, long-time friends and collaborators, will engage in a conversation centered on art, intimacy, and the artistic process.


Sophie Calle is an artist whose conceptually driven work has been exhibited since the late 1970s. Known for blending photographs and text, she explores the boundaries between intimacy and the public sphere, reality and fiction. Calle’s notable solo exhibitions include venues such as the Palais de Tokyo in Paris and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Santiago. In 2023, she became the first artist to fill all galleries at the Musée Picasso Paris. Her works is featured in many prestigious collections worldwide.

Laurie Anderson is recognized as a writer, director, composer, visual artist, and musician. Her innovative projects encompass art, theater, experimental music, and technology, earning her five Grammy nominations and numerous accolades, including a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Recording Academy in 2024. Anderson’s visual works have been showcased globally, with significant exhibitions at the Hirshhorn Museum in Washington, D.C., and Moderna Museet in Stockholm.
