A landmark double engagement celebrating one of today’s most acclaimed string quartets!
The Quatuor Ébène — hailed by BBC Music Magazine as one of the “Ten Greatest String Quartet Ensembles of All Time” — makes a remarkable dual appearance this season starting with the launch of Chamber Music Cincinnati’s five-year journey toward its 100th anniversary. Known for their radiant sound, expressive freedom, and boundary-pushing approach to repertoire, the four musicians offer audiences two exceptional concerts that reflect both their artistic depth and their constant spirit of reinvention.
Founded in 1999 at the Conservatoire de Boulogne-Billancourt, the quartet quickly rose to prominence after winning the ARD Music Competition. Over the past two decades, they have built a singular reputation through award-winning recordings, adventurous collaborations, and a rare ability to make classical, jazz, and contemporary music speak with equal conviction. With the arrival of cellist Yuya Okamoto in 2024, the ensemble begins a new chapter marked by renewed energy and expanded color.
