On March 24, the Harvard Graduate School of Design will present “A Grand Parisian night,” a multidisciplinary evening on the urban, social and cultural challenges for the Grand Paris Region.

This evening will showcase the multifactorial stakes of the project of the Grand Paris Region, through a wide range of events, including a film screening, a roundtable, and a graphic show conference.

A roundtable entitled “Beyond Paris – A Conversation about the Future of Paris,” will introduce a debate on the joint future of the Parisian city center and its suburbs, in the framework of the new urban planning rules adopted by the city of Paris to adapt to climate change. This debate will be held with Lamia El Aaraje, Deputy Mayor of Paris, in Charge of Urban Planning, Architecture, and Greater Paris; architect Nicola Delon; Antoine Picon, Professor of the History of Architecture and Technology at Harvard Graduate School of Design; Magda Maaoui, Assistant Professor of Urban Planning at Harvard Graduate School of Design, and Pierre-Emmanuel Becherand, Loeb Fellow for 2025 and Head of Design, Arts, and Urban Development at Grand Paris Express.

Developed by the Harvard Graduate School of Design and designed by Pierre-Emmanuel Becherand and Magda Maaoui, this event is organized in partnership with Villa Albertine.

The Harvard Graduate School of Design is the graduate school of design at Harvard University, offering master’s and doctoral degrees in architecture, landscape, urban planning, urban design, real estate, and design studies
