On March 11, join Villa Albertine and the New York Philharmonic for a special evening honoring one of France’s most celebrated composers, Maurice Ravel.

This event features a discussion on Ravel’s life and legacy, with panelists François Dru (Editorial Director of the Ravel Edition), Arbie Orenstein (Ravel biographer), and Mathias Auclair (Director of Music at Bibliothèque Nationale de France), moderated by the New York Philharmonic. The conversation will delve into Ravel’s enduring influence and include a discussion about the upcoming world premiere of an uncovered Ravel work, to be conducted by Gustavo Dudamel with the New York Philharmonic.

The evening will conclude with an intimate performance by the Ivalas Quartet of the Ravel String Quartet.
