From Paris to Hollywood: Six Screenwriters Selected for Boulevard des Séries – The Factory 2025 

Iris Brey is a Franco–American film and TV series writer specialized in questions of feminism and gender. She co–wrote and directed her first fiction TV series for France Television, Split, a lesbian romance that premiered at Series Mania festival (2023). Her first book Sex and the Series (Editions de l’Olivier, 2018) analyzes the representation of women’s sexualities in American television.

She also directed Sex and the Series, a documentary series for OCS, five films about fictional heroines that changed the way we view sex. Her book Le Regard Féminin (Editions de l’Olivier, 2020), which won the Causette Prize for the best feminist essay of 2020, defines the theoretical framework to analyze female gaze in film and series. She co–directed the critically acclaimed collective book La Culture de l’Inceste (Le Seuil, 2022) which conceptualizes “incest culture.” She is now working on her first feature film. Iris Brey holds a Ph.D. in French literature and cinema from New York University. 

Sarah graduated from La Fémis’ Television Series Program in 2014 and from UCLA’s Professional Program in TV Writing in 2019. She has co–created and co–written Off–Season, a 6×52’ French Noir (France 3 – aired in Sept. 2022), and has co–created and co–written Vortex, a 6×52’ sci–fi/romance (France 2/Netflix – aired in Jan. 2023). The following year, she contributed to the writing of Carême, a period spy drama (Apple TV+) and co–created the series Tom & Lola, a police procedural (France TV), with Camille Couasse. In 2023, she launched her own company – Loch Ness Productions – to co–produce her projects both in France and internationally. She is currently working as the creator and co–producer of an 8×52’ series for Netflix. 

Marc Kressmann is a screenwriter, head writer, and producer. In his early career, he worked as a copywriter and freelance journalist. After starting out as a screenwriter for animation and daily soap operas, he co–created La Nouvelle Maud. He then wrote two radio series for France Culture and numerous episodes for various TV series before becoming the showrunner for Candice Renoir (a crime comedy that won an award at the Seoul International Drama Awards in 2018), Munch (a legal comedy), and Demain Nous Appartient (a soap opera). He recently co–wrote the tv movie Meurtres en Périgord Vert. He is currently developing two projects as writer and co–producer : Infaillible(s), a crime comedy, and Bloody Marie, a crime drama. He has a keen interest in family, LGBT, and social issues. 

Louise Silverio is a French screenwriter born in 1993. A graduate of SciencesPo Paris, La Fémis (Production Department), and the Serial Eyes screenwriting program at the DFFB, she lives and works in Paris. She began her career writing short form series, collaborating with both French and international artists. She co–wrote Happiness (15×6’, Arte), an Iranian coming–of–age story selected at Séries Mania 2021; Ceux qui Rougissent (8×10’, Arte), awarded Best Short Form Series at Séries Mania 2024; and the second season of Amours Solitaires, Lewis & Noa (20×3’, Arte / France Télévisions), which reached a wide audience with several million views.

She is currently developing new projects, including Flatwar, a short comedy film selected for the War on Screen residency; Miss Saturne, an animated series for Arte; and Belleblue,
a series co–written with Miao Yu, finalist of the SACD/France Télévisions Diversity Fund and recipient of the Beaumarchais Television Grant.
