Villa Albertine, the French Institute for Culture and Education, is offering a full-time position: Social Media Producer. This is a fully in-person position based in New York City, starting September 1, 2025

I. Overview

Villa Albertine is an institution of the French Embassy in the United States, supported by the French government and Albertine Foundation. Its mission is to strengthen ties between the United States, France and the French-speaking world through culture and education. Present in 10 major US cities –– Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, New Orleans, San Francisco, and Washington, DC –– it is headquartered in New York’s historic Payne Whitney Mansion on Fifth Avenue.

Villa Albertine, the French Institute for Culture and Education is seeking a creative and strategy-minded Social Media Producer to create trendy, on-brand, impactful written and visual content across our social media channels. The Social Media Producer creates and distributes relevant and impactful content through the Cultural Services’ 10+ social media platforms. Their responsibilities involve presenting ideas that can be developed into relevant stories and writing and editing content that they post.  

II. Job Description

We are seeking a creative and proactive Social Media Producer to develop compelling written and visual content for our digital platforms. This role combines storytelling, design, and strategy to enhance our online presence and engage a broad audience across social media, websites, and email campaigns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and edit engaging content, including videos, images, graphics, and written posts, for social media and other digital channels (e.g., websites, newsletters).
  • Collaborate regularly with external vendors, brands, and influencers to develop content aligned with campaign goals and brand identity.
  • Manage and maintain a detailed content calendar, coordinating with internal teams across departments and offices to source materials and key information.
  • Host occasional live video interviews or events on social platforms.
  • Monitor breaking news and digital trends to ensure content is timely, relevant, and resonant with the target audience.
  • Adapt trends creatively while maintaining consistent brand messaging and visual integrity.
  • Use analytics and insights to refine content strategy and drive increased engagement, website traffic, and audience growth.
  • Contribution to budget monitoring and departmental administrative tasks.

III. Profile Insights

Education/Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience managing social media accounts for institutions or brands, ideally in the cultural or nonprofit sector.
  • Skilled at integrating new social media trends while maintaining brand integrity.
  • Familiarity with social media management tools and analytics platforms.
  • Intimate knowledge of the social media landscape and intricacies of most-used platforms, especially Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
  • Excellent writing and copy-editing skills.
  • Video, photo editing, and graphic design skills sufficient for professional social media content production.
  • Experience working with influencers or external partners is a plus.
  • A passion for storytelling, current events, and digital innovation.

Language Requirements

  • English (reading, speaking, writing): Native speaker 
  • French (reading, speaking, writing): Advanced or Bilingual

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of Canva, Sprout Social, video editing software, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office Suite preferred.

IV. Job Details

  • This is a 100% in-person position based in New York City.
  • Institut Français des Etats-Unis – Villa Albertine, 972 Fifth Avenue New York, NY 10075
  • At Will employment with a 6-month trial period.
  • Occasional availability for events on weekends and in the evenings.
  • Benefits:
  • * Gross Salary: from 5,363 USD/month, full-time basis with a monthly transportation allowance of $120.
  • * Generous vacation policy (25 days a year + public holidays).

  •  This position does not entitle the holder to any diplomatic or consular status or privileges.

Candidates must already have legal authorization to reside and work in the United States.
