Villa Albertine is delighted to announce that filmmaker and actress Emmanuelle Béart will be in New York City for special screenings of her documentary Such a Resounding Silence, as well as two of her most acclaimed films, at Princeton University and venues across New York City.
Join French actress and filmmaker Emmanuelle Béart for a series of special screenings of her documentary Such a Resounding Silence (Un Silence si Bruyant) this November in New York and Princeton. Co-directed with filmmaker Anastasia Mikova, the 2023 documentary addresses the sensitive subject of incest through Emmanuelle Béart’s own experience and the testimonies of other survivors. By bringing these personal accounts together, the film opens up a conversation around a subject that remains largely silenced. Emmanuelle Béart will present the documentary at Princeton University on November 19 and NYU on November 23. She will also present Un Silence si Bruyant at the United Nations on November 18.
She will also present two landmark films from her career: Claude Sautet’s Un cœur en hiver at the Alliance Française on November 21, followed by a Q&A, and Nelly and Monsieur Arnaud at Film Forum on November 24.
