Paris, October 14, 2026 — On Monday, October 12, 2026, the Palais de Tokyo in Paris hosted the ceremony of the eighth edition of the Prix 100 Femmes de Culture (100 Women of Culture Prize), in front of 200 guests. For the First time, the Prize opened up to the United States: this “Getty Edition” honored one hundred French-speaking and American laureates.

Conceived in close collaboration with the Getty in Los Angeles and in partnership with Villa Albertine, the French Institute for Culture and Education, led by Mohamed Bouabdallah, Cultural Counselor of the French Embassy in the United States, this edition is part of the celebrations of the 250th anniversary of the American Declaration of Independence. It honors a friendship between the two countries that has been written, to a large extent, through culture.

A Franco-American jury, under the honorary chairmanship of Katherine E. Fleming, President and CEO of the Getty, and Patricia Barbizet, Honorary President of Femmes de Culture, recognized leaders and artists in ten categories: heritage, cultural diplomacy, contemporary art, music, performing arts, creative arts, media, digital cultures, cinema and publishing.

Hosted by Rosalie Varda, the ceremony opened with a speech by Eva Nguyen Binh, President of Femmes de Culture, and closed with remarks by Stéphan Paris, Founding Director, followed by a group photo of the laureates. The closing reception was offered by Augustinus Bader.
