Festival de Cine Europeo: An Archipelago of Stories
Festival, Film, Film Festival
Presented by the Alliance Française Puerto Rico, the Puerto Rico European Film Festival returns for its 17th edition, bringing together a compelling selection of contemporary cinema from more than 15 countries and territories.
This year’s program centers around the notion of the archipelago. Across fiction and documentary, established filmmakers and emerging voices, these films traverse questions of memory, identity, family, youth, migration, love, power, community, and resistance, offering distinct perspectives on the complexities of our shared world. Several French films will be featured including: Nino by Pauline Loquès and L’épreuve du feu by Aurélien Peyre.
In parallel, the festival comprises of several outreach programs, such as Festinema Junior 2026, bringing together hundreds of young students to watch French language films; CineConexión, the industry forum of the Puerto Rico European Film Festival, connecting film professionals from Europe, Puerto Rico, and the Caribbean; and Cortadito, a short film competition open to Puerto Rican filmmakers.
