Lily Alcaraz and Léa Berlier

2026 Oui Design! laureates and experts in weaving.

Lily Alcaraz and Léa Berlier are textile designers and weavers based in Paris. Trained at ESAA Duperré (BTS, 2005) and ENSCI – Les Ateliers (Master in Textile Design, 2008), they discovered their shared passion for weaving early on, and developed a practice focused on creating original materials on handlooms. In 2009, they founded their studio and participated in a residency at the Ateliers de Paris. From 2014 to 2018, they were residents at the Pépinière du Viaduc des Arts, supported by the Bettencourt Schueller Foundation, and took part in international workshops in Kyoto.

Their approach, centered on research and experimentation, explores materials, patterns, and colors through paper, leather, and wood, which they transform into woven fabrics. They collaborate with interior designers to create textiles for interiors, furniture, and bespoke commissions, including notable projects for Hermès and Cartier.

Their work has been exhibited at Révélations at the Grand Palais in Paris (2019, 2022, 2025), Émergences in Pantin (2023), and Galerie Handwerk in Munich (2024). They have received the Fabriqué à Paris label (2018), the Grand Prix de la Création de la Ville de Paris, Arts and Crafts category (2021), the Est Ensemble Eco-Design Textile Award (2022), and their Pinceau lamp was acquired by the CNAP (French National Center for Visual Arts) in 2021.
