An intimate encounter with the depth, virtuosity, and expressive power of the organ

Renowned for her radiant sound and deep musical insight, Lynne Davis has forged a remarkable international career shaped by decades of immersion in the French organ tradition. Propelled to prominence after winning First Prize at the St. Albans International Organ Competition, she has since performed in cathedrals and major concert halls across France, Europe, and the United States. Equally devoted to performance and pedagogy, Davis has held distinguished teaching positions on both continents and has left a lasting imprint through her recordings and her mentorship of young organists. Her recognition as Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres underscores the significance of her artistic contribution.

For this special evening at Rockefeller Chapel, Davis presents a rich program spanning early Baroque virtuosity and French modern expression, with works by Bach, Du Mage, Sweelinck, Bruhns, and Alain—a rare opportunity to hear a masterful artist bring centuries of organ tradition to vibrant life, with support from the Brian Gerrish Organ Performance Fund.
