Cyanotype Workshop with Photographer Roxane Moreau
Workshop

Delve into the art of cyanotype with photographer Roxane Moreau (Vogue, Irving Penn Foundation, International Center of Photography), whose work explores the intersections of identity, memory, and belonging.
Born on La Réunion Island, and drawing from her Creole and Sephardic heritages, Moreau’s practice reflects transgenerational memory and poetically captures dialogues between people and their environments.
In this hands-on workshop, Roxane will introduce participants to the cyanotype, a photographic process known for its luminous blue prints. This unique opportunity presents guests with the opportunity to explore photography as an artistic expression, and to leave with a unique cyanotype of their own.
About Roxane Moreau:
Roxane Moreau was born in Reunion Island in 1994. She lives and works between Paris and Reunion Island. Her work has been exhibited in galleries in New York, London, Amsterdam, Paris and will soon be presented at the contemporary Art Center of Reunion Island, at La Cité des Arts.
Initially trained in graphic design, she began exploring photography in 2015 and worked alongside fashion photographers in Paris for several years. In 2019, seeking to refine her technical skills, she joined the advanced photography program at Les Gobelins in Paris. After the COVID-19 pandemic, she moved to New York to further her studies at the International Center of Photography, graduating from the Creative Practices program in 2023. Alongside her artistic career, she pursued art history courses at the Jeu de Paume and later at the Louvre’s open auditorium, both in Paris.
She views photography as an artisanal practice, embracing film as a medium that allows her to engage deeply with the materiality of her work. From developing negatives to crafting prints in the darkroom, she considers each step an integral part of her creative expression. Her artistic exploration moves between portraiture and landscape, delving into themes shaped by the experience of insularity—identity as a construct, the interplay of cultural and natural forces, and the tension between isolation and connection.
