Film at Lincoln Center and Janus Films present “The Dirty Stories of Jean Eustache,” a 12-film retrospective of the director’s work, from July 7–13. A 4K restoration of Eustache’s The Mother and the Whore will have a three-week theatrical run at Film at Lincoln Center June 23–July 13
Often referred to as the bad boy of the French New Wave, Jean Eustache has been regarded as one of the most important filmmakers to emerge from the movement, cited as an inspiration by many prominent contemporary filmmakers. “
Janus Films and Film at Lincoln Center’s exclusive retrospective gives you the opportunity to (re) discover Jean Eustache’s cult films The Mother and the Whore (1973), starring Jean-Pierre Léaud, Françoise Lebrun and Bernadette Lafont as well as My Little Loves (1974), an autobiographical coming of age story set in the South of France.
