In honor of “La Francophonie,” PS 58 – The Carroll School proudly announces its second annual Francophonie Film Festival!

On Saturday, March 23, in celebration of “La Francophonie” (the French-speaking world), the French-English Dual-Language Program Liaison Committee of PS 58 – The Carroll School proudly presents its second annual event featuring a day of complimentary screenings of French films, highlighting diverse and culturally enriching cinema from around the French-speaking world.

The first edition of the PS 58 Francophone Film Festival in March 2023.

This year, PS 58 – The Carroll Garden School presents seven short and feature length films thanks to Villa Albertine, Institut Français, and the Quebec Government Office in New York.

Breakfast Session l 8:30am – 11:00am

Bonjour le monde ! by Anne-Lise Koelher and Eric Serre, France, 1h01, 2019 (recommended for ages 4+).

Crafts: Recreate the festival’s mascot with papier-mâché.

Akissi, un drôle de petit frère by Alexandre Coste, Ivory Coast-France, 26 min, 2022 (recommended for ages 4+). Based on the original graphic novel by Marguerite Abouet and Mathieu Sapin.

Fun Quiz: Test your knowledge about music in French-speaking countries and hear all about local pronunciation and vocabulary.

Snack Session l 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm

The Institut français is responsible for France’s international cultural program.
