The Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain brings to Miami its last and most successful show staged in its current location in Paris before moving to a new exhibition space at the Place du Palais-Royal.
The Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain presents a stunning retrospective of legendary Colombian artist Olga de Amaral at ICA Miami, following its acclaimed debut in Paris. Featuring over 50 works spanning six decades — including rare pieces never seen outside Colombia — the exhibition is a sweeping tribute to one of the most influential voices in contemporary art.
Amaral’s mesmerizing sculptures blur the lines between textile, painting, and architecture. Using techniques like weaving, knotting, and braiding, she transforms fiber into bold, abstract forms that shimmer with gold leaf, natural dyes, and poetic geometry.
Award-winning architect Lina Ghotmeh brings the exhibition to life with a visionary design — a “vertical forest” where Amaral’s works seem to grow organically through the gallery space, mirroring the artist’s deep connection to nature and memory.
Co-curated by Marie Perennès (Fondation Cartier) and Stephanie Seidel (ICA Miami), this landmark exhibition offers a rare opportunity to explore Amaral’s transcendent world — tactile, timeless, and transformative.
