Midwest Tour
New Harmony (IN), Minneapolis (MN), Chicago (IL), Ann Arbor (MI) & Cincinnati (OH),

April 9-15, 2025

Blurring the lines between jazz and classical chamber music, Reverso is a unique musical collaboration that bridges continents, genres, and centuries. Co-led by Jazz Times’ #1 trombonist Ryan Keberle and acclaimed Paris-based pianist Frank West, the ensemble reimagines early 20th-century French compositions through the lens of improvisation and contemporary jazz.

Reverso is a trans-oceanic improvising chamber jazz project born out of a shared passion for musical innovation and cultural exchange. At the heart of the trio are co-leaders Ryan Keberle—celebrated as Jazz Times’ #1 trombonist—and Frank West, a Paris-based pianist and the music director for iconic trumpeter Ibrahim Maalouf. They are joined by the extraordinary French improvising cellist Vince Curt, whose versatility and expressiveness help define the ensemble’s rich sonic palette.

Reverso’s original repertoire is deeply inspired by early 20th-century French composers including Maurice Ravel, Gabriel Fauré, Francis Poulenc, Darius Milhaud, and the often-overlooked Germaine Tailleferre, the sole female member of the famed group Les Six. Through these influences, the trio explores a lyrical and harmonically adventurous space where classical counterpoint meets jazz improvisation.
