The 2025 Museums Next Generation French Laureates
Museums & Heritage
Meet the seven French museum professionals that will travel from Los Angeles to New York over the course of two weeks to engage with American professionals in the field, as part of the third edition of the Museums Next Generation program.
Seven French museum curators from a range of art history specialties have been selected for the third edition of Villa Albertine’s Museums Next Generation program. Launched in 2023, Museums Next Generation is a professional immersion and acceleration program for French and American curators.
As part of the program, French participants spend two weeks in the United States and American curators have the opportunity to engage in a 10-day exchange in France to meet with key museum professionals in the respective countries.
For the 2025 edition, the jury convened on December 11 and selected seven laureates from a pool of 40 candidates, representing six different French cities and a wide range of expertise, from antiquity to contemporary art.
The selected participants will travel to the United States from April 7 to 17, spending one week in Texas and another week in New York and the East Coast. Over these two weeks, they will engage in field visits to some of the most dynamic and innovative institutions in the country, meet with leaders in the field, and gain insights into the challenges and specificities of the American museum landscape. They will also participate in networking events with American professionals, fostering international collaboration and exchange.
