Community Manager – Campus France USA

Institut Français des Etats-Unis – Villa Albertine Washington is recruiting a Community Manager for Campus France USA.

Full-time position starting on June 2, 2025.

Potential candidates must legally reside and be able to work in the United States (US citizenship, green card, A visa).

I. Description

The Community Manager is responsible for creating content, planning, and managing Campus France USA’s social media channels, with the goal of ensuring these communities are active. They are responsible for the management and growth of the France Alumni USA network. They also devote a significant portion of their time to processing pre-consular applications from American students wishing to travel to France.

II. Roles and Responsibilities

Communication

  • Collaborate with the IFEU-VA Communications Department and with the French Embassy’s Press Office on global communication initiatives to ensure consistency and seamless integration of higher education-related topics across IFEU-VA networks.
  • Keep website content up to date.

Community Management

  1. Management of Campus France USA Social Media
    • Outline and implement a digital strategy, in collaboration with the Director and Deputy Director of Campus France USA for CF USA communities (alumni, current students, institutional partners).
    • Produce content (text, images, and videos) for social media (primarily LinkedIn and Instagram at this time).
    • Outline, plan, and implement communication campaigns.
    • Organize and participate in events to strengthen the community.
    • Monitor digital technologies and social media.
  2. Management of the France Alumni USA Network
    • Outline and implement an engagement strategy for members of the France Alumni USA network or those listed in the Campus France USA database.
    • Coordinate this strategy with the France Alumni Paris team, as well as university attachés and chargés de mission.
    • Write engaging content (texts, images, and videos).
    • Promote the France Alumni USA network to alumni of higher education programs in France and to former language assistants in France (TAPIF).
    • Create a network of Alumni Ambassadors.
  3. Data Analysis and Performance Indicator Tracking
    • Define and track performance indicators on Google Analytics, Instagram, and LinkedIn.

Participation in Campus France Activities

  1. Management of Application Files:
    • Processing pre-consular applications for American students (or those residing in the US) applying for programs in France.
    • Advice and support, telephone interviews, and emails.
    • Monitoring applications on the Etudes en France platform.
  2. University Campus Visits:
    • Visit American universities to promote studying in France to students, professors, and administration.

III. Required Skills

Desired Professional Experience/Skills

  • Professional experience as a Community Manager.
  • Experience launching community initiatives (e.g. launching an ambassador program, creating an event series, or writing an email newsletter).
  • Experience managing brands on social media.
  • Ability to interpret website traffic and online user engagement metrics.

Required Languages

  • English: reading, speaking, writing – bilingual or native speaker
  • French: reading, speaking, writing – good level (B2 minimum)

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of online marketing and advertising channels
  • Knowledge of American and French higher education
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Required Qualities

  • Proactive approach and good interpersonal and relational skills
  • Autonomy, sense of responsibility, initiative
  • Ability to manage work independently
  • Ability to work in a team

IV. Job Details and Benefits

  • Workplace: French Institute of the United States – Villa Albertine (IFEU-VA) (4101 Reservoir Rd NW, WASHINGTON DC 20007)
  • Weekly Hours: 40 hours, excluding lunch breaks
  • Work is 100% onsite and in person
  • Occasional weekend availability required.
  • Salary: $5084 per month with a monthly transportation allowance of $120.
  • Vacation (25 days per year + comp time).
  • Medical insurance coverage depending on situation and possible participation in 401(k).
