The Villa Albertine and the AFDC wanted to celebrate France’s most prolific 20th century author, Marcel Proust in 2021 (150th birth anniversary) and 2022 (100th death anniversary). However, the pandemic precluded us from launching the project earlier. This year, 2023, marks the 110th anniversary of the publication of the first volume of À la recherche du temps perdu / In Search of Lost Time, so this long-coming project is a true celebration of Literature. Join the Cultural Services of the Embassy of France (Villa Albertine) and the Alliance Française of Washington (AFDC), on November 2nd at 7:00 PM, for a Panel Discussion, at the AFDC, on what it means to read Marcel Proust today and how relevant his work still is. The discussion will be followed by a reception at the Alliance Française.

The panel is part of a series of events, organized in partnership with the AFDC. Join us at La Maison Française on November 1st at 7 pm for the screening of “Time Regained” and on November 3rd at 7pm for a Proust Reading Night.
