BAM presents the first US retrospective of one of the most original cinematic voices in France today, Axelle Ropert, whose films are ripe for discovery. Full of “stark, sharply defined moments” (The New Yorker), Ropert gives singular form to a deep understanding of the human experience through bracing and original images. Join us for her latest film, Petit Solange, winner of the Prix Jean Vigo 2021, alongside her earlier features for a complete retrospective of tender, funny, and elegant works exploring love and family.
The retrospective includes screenings of the Wolberg Family (2009), Miss and the Doctors (2013), and the Apple of my Eye (2016).
