From May 19 to 22, explore ICFF, North America’s leading fair for contemporary furnishing design, in conjunction with WANTED, an outstanding international platform for emerging designers.

Combined, these two platforms will present a curated selection of 450 brands exhibiting the world’s most creative and design-driven furniture, lighting, kitchen and bath products, textiles, flooring, and more. Throughout the three-day fair, design professionals, architects, interior designers, and design enthusiasts will be presented with a rich lineup of talks, panel sessions, keynote presentations and workshops. This year, WANTED will also continue to support the next generation of design professionals through their continued programs: Look Book, Launch Pad, the Schools Showcase, the Design Schools Workshop, and the WANTED Lounge x Lumens.

From May 19 to May 21, visitors will have the chance to meet French designers and design studios and explore their latest creations across the fair’s different categories:

French Exhibits: Arca Ebenisterie, founded by Steven Leprizé (former Villa Albertine and WantedDesign Resident with the support of the Bettencourt Schueller Foundation); Design Quarters; Fermob; Home Spirit; Ligne Roset; Ressource Peinture; and Ulgador.

WANTED Launch Pad: An international platform for emerging designers, featuring the French Laboratoire Textile and Margaux de Penfentenyo.

International School Student Showcase: ENSAAMA (Ecole Nationale Superieure Arts Appliqués).

WANTED Design Schools Workshop: Students from the French Ecole Camondo and ENSCI Les Ateliers will lead workshops, culminating in a group exhibition on Tuesday, May 21.

Talk: 11:30am | The Main Stage

ICFF Brand Directors and WantedDesign co-founders Odile Hainaut and Claire Pijoulat will launch the 35th edition of the Fair with a discussion on The Art of Designing and Creating Meaningful Products, together with renowned designers Luca Nichetto, Founder of Nichetto Studio, and Daniel Germani, Creative Director of Danver Stainless Outdoor Kitchens.

 

Talk: 1:30pm | The Oasis Stage

Join Villa Albertine’s current resident Jean-Marc Bullet for a panel discussion on Perspectives, Principles, and Progress: Liberative Strategies. Moderated by Kamille Glenn, Founder of dsgnrswrkshp, and Crystal Williams, President of  the Rhode Island School of Design, the talk will address the question of inclusion and representation in design beyond diversity and equity initiatives. Speakers will discuss how to forage community; get involved in activism; and create a truly sustainable design practice.

Jean-Marc Bullet’s residency in New York is presented in partnership with Industry City + WantedDesign and ENSCI – Les Ateliers, and supported by the Bettencourt Schueller Foundation.

 

ICFF Editors’ Awards, Best of Launch Pad, and Best of Schools and Students: 5:30pm – 6:00pm| The Main Stage

The ICFF Editors Awards are one of the design industry’s premier accolades. Entries are judged by international editors, industry practitioners, and design educators, who determine the best of the year’s product launches. The awards recognize the top designs in 12 categories: body of work, new designer, furniture, seating, carpet and flooring, lighting, outdoor, materials, wallcoverings, accessories, kitchen and bath, and booth.

The Best of Launch Pad winners will be selected by a jury of renowned industry professionals led by Amy Devers, Host, Clever.

Design Schools Workshop Final Presentation:

2:30pm – 4:30pm | The Main Stage

Participating workshop students, including students from the French Ecole Camondo and ENSCI Les Ateliers, will take the audience through the results of this year’s creative brief, “The Desired Future of the Next Generation: Redefining Mobility,” with a panel of industry professionals and design educators providing feedback.

WantedDesign

Founded in 2011, WantedDesign is a platform dedicated to promoting design and fostering the creative community in the United States and internationally through events, discussions, and partnerships. It organizes the WantedDesign Manhattan show every year, in the heart of New York Design Week alongside the ICFF fair.  WantedDesign has been hosted since 2014 by Industry City. They have partnered to launch a new design residency program in the heart of what has become New York’s most creative, dynamic, and diverse design hub. With guidance from the WantedDesign team and the creation of a workspace on Industry City’s campus, the Industry City + WantedDesign international residency program offers international residents a chance to immerse themselves in this creative community to build their network, get inspired by New York City, and nurture and prepare new projects.
