The Embassy of France welcomes you to an event centered on women athletes and gender parity, featuring a screening of LFG.

This program is part of a series by the Embassy of France ito celebrate Olympic values in preparation of the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris this summer. This event is presented with the generous support of LVMH Inc., Sanofi, and Arianespace,  and in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery.

7:00pm: Introductory remarks by Embassy of France Senior Counselor, Damien Cristofari.

7:05pm: Panel discussion with the participation of:

Michelle Kang, Washington Spirit owner

Wendy Chun-Hoon, Director of the Women’s Bureau at the Labor Department

Moderated by Gena Smith, Chief of Human Resources at LVMH Inc.

7:40pm: Screening of LFG, directed by Academy Award®-winners Andrea Nix Fine and Sean Fine (105 minutes), followed by a Q&A.

In 2019, players filed a class-action, gender discrimination lawsuit against the U.S. Soccer Federation, three months before the FIFA Women’s World Cup, which sets the stage for LFG. The film interweaves transcendent athletic performances with the players’ ongoing pursuit for equal pay, granting viewers unprecedented access to these game-changers as they meet the physical demands and pressures of being some of the world’s top athletes, while showcasing their courage, unflinching spirit and resiliency in an effort to create long-lasting social change with the biggest fight for women’s rights since Title IX.

LFG is a no-holds-barred, inside account of the U.S. women’s soccer team’s ongoing fight for equal pay as told by Megan Rapinoe, Jessica McDonald, Becky Sauerbrunn, Kelley O’Hara, Sam Mewis and others.

Security Rules: Each person attending the event must have a ticket registered in their name and a government-issued ID matching the name on the reservation in order to enter the Embassy. Print tickets are not required. Due to strict security measures, please arrive on time and allow for extra time for security screenings.
